Wrinkle relaxers
What
Botox is a quick, injectable treatment that relaxes the facial muscles that cause fine lines and wrinkles. When these tiny muscles stop over-contracting, the skin looks smoother, softer, and more refreshed—without changing the way you naturally express yourself.
How
Botox works by blocking the nerve signals that cause muscles to contract, which can reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. It is a popular cosmetic treatment for reducing the appearance of facial wrinkles, particularly in the forehead, between the eyebrows, and around the eyes.
When
Most people get Botox to soften forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet, but it can also help prevent deeper wrinkles from forming over time. The treatment takes just a few minutes, has little to no downtime, and results typically last 3–4 months.
Pre-Treatment
- Schedule your Filler appointment at least 4 weeks prior to a special event, such as a wedding or a vacation to allow for complete healing.
- Results will take approximately 7 to 14 days to appear. Also bruising and swelling may be apparent in that time period.
- Avoid blood thinners prior to treatment. Patients that bruise easily or take blood thinners may take longer to heal. Please be patient.
- Do not consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment (alcohol may cause bruising).
- To minimize the risk of bruising you may take Arnica or Bromelain.
Post-Treatment
- Do not manipulate the treated area following treatment. Do not receive other facial treatments after Botox injections for at least 10 days.
- Do not perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for 6 hours after treatment. This will keep the Botox in the injected area and not elsewhere.
- Do not lie down for at least four hours following treatment.
- It takes 4-14 days to see full results.
